[REENACTMENT PHOTO] - this pic is just here to illustrate what sort of rock made up our shelter. it was much like this: very bleacher-like, steep, and jagged. steeper and more uncomfortable than is what in this picture. also, the roof was not this nice! the roof was only 2-3 feet deep and had a window behind it. more like a shallow alcove than a tunnel or a cave.
