This is the west fence gate as mentioned in the book. The trail south of it leading to the two pine trees on a small ridge is a little difficult to follow but really not to bad if you keep your course bearing always south. From the ridge where the two pine trees are the trail back to the trail head is clearly defined. The trail north of this gate which goes down to the bed of Wildcat Canyon is very easy to follow on a very gentle slope.
