We spotted a trail built with large high rock retaining walls switch backing down the cliffs to the bottom of the canyon. The next photo is this same shot with a red line drawn in to show the path of the trail. I suspect this trail was built in the early ranching days to provide access to water for the cattle. I'm not sure what/who was making those trails visible along the stream bank at the canyon bottom. I thought perhaps cattle were still using this ancient cliff trail but the close ups of the trail shown in following photos don't show signs of much if any traffic. Perhaps herds of elk wander up and down the bottom of this canyon.
