Confusing trail signs here. This is the trail head for FS Trail #57 which descends to the Nankoweap Saddle where the Nankoweap trail begins. Trail #57 continues on down to the lower elevation TH for this trail on FR445. The sign saying Saddle Mountain implies that this trail will take you to the top of Saddle Mtn but I was told by a person seemingly knowledgable on this subject that it goes to the saddle from which point it is an off trail scramble to the top of Saddle Mtn. The other sign which is too dark to read in this photo says Nankoweap Trail.
