As a teenager, I once hit a chip shot off the tee and was short of the green by 20 feet. (very bad shot)
I bet the guys I was golfing with that I could "throw" the ball better than that. I won the bet by throwing it within 2 feet of the hole.
They wouldn't let me count the 'throw' however.
