This is the reason I went to this trail! It is the only place on the Peaks that I know where it grows. Calypso, or Lady Slipper, is a small orchid. A few other hikers came up after me--they didn't notice the flower until I pointed it out. I scared one group when they came around a bend in the trail and saw me laying on the ground taking these pics!
