Does anyone know what the most predominant grass is? Lehmann Lovegrass. Like buffelgrass it was brought here from Africa for reasons to do with livestock. These grasses crowd out and compete with natives for resources and create fuel for fires that the native sonoran desert plants are just not adapted to survive. Since the non-native grasses are doing great after a fire, eventually they take over.
