this dense patch of pines was a nice resprite
only 0.1 mi of shade walking across, stretches 0.4 mi down the slope

after the pines it's 1.5 miles chaparral until the pines comeback for a grand 2 mile stretch to Wild Flower Saddle
please note the torched pines are only here, we are not standing in pines and I don't see pines down on the 2 mile grand stretch on satellite
