Had the pleasure of helping the BLM in California explore and document a new site near the Salton Sea. In fact, the BLM archaeologist said this was an island in the sea. We spend the day doing a surface analysis to determine the boundary of the site. In prehistoric times this was the shoreline of the Salton Sea. We found a lot of pottery, flakes, and a few points (arrowheads).
