The "logs" used to build the cabin have a rectangular cross section, more so than those in the barn. I read speculation that the cabin was built with railroad ties. There was a small pile of creosote railroad ties on the property but appeared to be of later origin than this cabin. The creosote smell from those railroad ties would have made a cabin unlivable (in my opinion).
