We arrived the nite before our hike to pick up our permit at St Mary VC and watch the new film. So it was nice to be able to walk around the village and along the lake. Yes, there was smoke in the air for most of our trip but not too bad.
UL Prince of Wales Lodge where we would stay upon our return. It's been newly renovated and is celebrating its 90th year. UPDATE 9/17/2017 re Kenow Fire which burned down the VC which was just down the street. The firefighters were able to save the lodge: greatfallstribune.c ... 001/
UR you can barely see a magpie; they can be a bit of a nuisance.
Middle Right is the hanging baskets on the Trappers Mountain Grill where we would have breakfast and our celebratory ribs and cold smoked trout dinner.
LR is Citadel Peaks. We would see those quite a bit in the next couple days.
LL is Mount Vimey.
Lower Middle is looking south to the USA.
