There were a lot of these imprints from rattlesnakes left from the night before. The trail is used by all sorts of little critters their tracks are all over the trail. The snakes sit in the trail just waiting for one to stroll by. Reminded me of Highway Patrolman sitting along the highway picking off Speeders. (This analogy is in no way meant to be derogatory to our Highway Patrolman, Both the snakes and Highway patrolman have important jobs to do.)
