looking west toward the main lodge. Through the 1920s and beyond, the Lodge was the crown jewel of the Railway's Glacier Park hotels. It might've lost some luster in 1927 when the Prince of Wales Hotel was constructed across the border, but the multiple recreational opportunities and overall activity level at the Lodge kept it at the top in the perceived pecking order.
