The main section of the Eagletail Mountains, with the feathers as the high point. Vast plains to the south. The range creates the appearance of something more substantial when viewed from the north and northeast on I-10, but in reality they are but a thin ridge of steep cliffs and peaks. As time goes on, the more I explore of the state, the more I realize that huge areas are low flat desert plains, and not mountains. I enjoy what I see and learn, however.
