Found this very heavy piece of solid steel near a 10 ft deep prospect hole. My guess is that it was a broken part off of a stamp mill but why the prospector would haul this heavy piece of steel to his remote prospect site is a mystery. Maybe he used it as an anvil when breaking up pieces of ore with a sledge hammer.
