(Oregon_Hiker finds a Gold Prospecting "Stream Sluice Box"- "It’s placed in flowing water in the stream with one end lower than the other so the water flows over the 'Rungs of the ladder'. Then gravel and sand thought to have gold in it is sprinkled into the water flowing into the upstream end so that it is carried over the 'rungs'. The gold particles are captured in the eddies behind the rung. A carpet like material is placed under the ladder in the bottom of the sluice box to help hold the gold flakes.".. so says from Oregon_Hiker's research)
