a nice group of Goldenrod showing off. We sure hit a lot of prime wildflower season up here. Seems late to me. I've been putting this in the Alpine Goldenrod category but according to my N Rim Wildflower site, it gives 100% probability to Velvet Goldenrod (another name three-nerved goldenrod). Or even better: Solidago arizonica [ Error T Topic ]
Linnaeus named this species from a Canadian specimen in 1753. "Velutina" is Latin for "velvety". The plant has endured numerous name changes and the precise name is still not agreed on by authors of various floras. http://swbiodiversity.org/seinet/taxa/i ... &clid=3479
