The two large slabs shown in this photo are wood and were laying just inside the door to the inner most room. The slightly cupped indentations on the surface may have been from a stone axe used to shape the slabs. These were not mentioned in the archaeology report, Echoes in the Canyon. My first thought was that they formed a door but they also might have been the top covering of small burial crypts for dead children in the floor of this room which had been dug up by pot hunters. Note: These wood slabs were laying at this same location in the photos from my Oct 2012 visit to this site.
