The Legend People. A man with a child and a woman with a child slightly behind him. Someone, I can't remember who, (might have been Johnr1) told me that the Hoodoos here were Native American Survivors who climbed up the slopes to escape a great flood in the Valley. They waited there along the slopes, hoping that more people from their community would emerge from the water. Griefstricken, they waited so long that they turned to stone.
