A new street design for New York City. See here dedicated bike lanes cordoned off and protected from vehicle traffic, by being placed on the opposite side of parked cars. The City has and is creating numerous bike paths of this sort. The street itself was not widened, so the creation of the bike lanes does squeeze down the width of the vehicle lanes. I am curious if the reduced width lanes has increased side swipe vehicle accidents. But here clearly the bike lanes are used, as this shows just a snippet of the number of cyclists I saw this day.
