Desolation and destruction. I understand this section of the park experienced many issues: heavy growth of invasive vines; poorly rooted black locust trees blowing over; and cherry trees taking over as a dominant species but the forest lacking sufficient diversity to remain balanced. So evidently this whole area will be chopped up and restored.
