I couldn't tell what he had until I got home and downloaded it. I wasn't about to take it away from him to find out. He caught himself a butterfly. I thought it was a Tarantula Hawk, but it's not right. Antennae are short, wings are different. Turns out it's a type of Robber Fly that mimics a Tarantula Hawk. No stinger, just a bite to paralyze it's victims like other Robber flies have.
