We began our ascent of Mahan Mountain along this LONG-unused "road" which turned into a fully-overgrown thicket, making for a less-than fun or easy climb. About halfway up we encountered a more current road (not visible on the Satellite map) which we followed the rest of the way to the summit as well as the full descent.
