Many are understandably upset about many of these pictures (especially the ones I am in!). However, areas like this which were covered in chaparral species would have burned exactly as they did before whites entered Tucson. Besides they will regrow and now there are views. The loss of the pines is the big story, but with forest conditions as they were, all but a cool fire would have killed them.
