When you use your front bumper as a plow, eventually it builds up too much of a bank in front to keep going. Thanks to Karl for helping out. (In the end, the sheriff made me move because my path would lead to lesser equipped vehicles attempting it and getting stuck. Including one that was illustrating the theory as he was explaining it to me).
