A mysterious hole in the middle of the abandoned road about 8 inches in diameter - one of three we found. Best guess is these holes were core sample holes for prospecting and that the sole purpose of the road had been to provide access for the equipment used to bore these holes. Note: We covered all the holes with large rocks so animals would not break a leg by accidentally stepping in them.
