The morning of June 26, two days after a lightning strike started the fire. The previous day a forest service crew tended to what was then a one acre fire, and a copter dropped water on it for a couple of hours. I work one mile north of the origin point, and on that Friday you wouldn’t have know that there was a nearby, other than the chopper activity. There was absolutely no smoke on Friday. Apparently the fire crew left the fire location thinking it was out, and a couple of hours later it blew up. This shot is the next morning.
