Here is a great picture of the Purcell lava flow; remember this was under the water. And, of course, with the 2003 fire, it really opened up for a clear view. But as you can also see, the trees do not seem to be coming back. That is Mineral Creek at the bottom there. The Livingston Range is in the background.
