Is that spectacular or what?! Even with the dead trees it's quite beautiful I think. There was an 18,000 acre wildfire that swept through here in 2016 (by two juveniles near the summit that we would not see this day) and closed the trail for around a year. The fire killed 14 people, injured more than 176 people, and damaged or destroyed at least 2460 structures at a cost of more than $500 million.
