The trail crossing the saddle before starting the descent of almost 1000 ft to Summit Lake. I had thoughts of hiking to Summit Lake when I started out that morning but decided to settle for going a short distance off trail to get a good view of that lake without loosing any altitude before starting the return hike. There was no way I wanted to climb back up that hill after a long day of hiking.
