On the way back to camp we found a well worn cow trail that angled down the side of the ridge at a gentle slope completely avoiding all the brush we had struggled through on our way up to the top of the ridge. The trail's beginning at the edge of upper Park Creek was marked, probably by a cattle rancher, with this ribbon and was near the gate in the fence near our camp. If we had only known about this trail we would have saved enough time and energy to actually reach our planned Salome Canyon viewpoint further out on the end of the ridge.
