My father's 1956 S-Series 4wd truck taking us on a family picnic with a neighboring ranch family in the spring of 1958 or 1959 in the eastern desert foothills of the Cascade Mountains in Washington. We took our cattle to graze there in the summer. I don't recall how he got 9 people in this truck with most of them still smiling after driving on rough unmaintained dirt ranching roads. The number 8000 below the passenger door indicates the truck was rated for a gross vehicle weight of 4 tons - ready for some heavy duty ranch work. That's my mother on the left - I managed to stay out of this photo.
