This photo is not from the Collom Mine area. It's near-ish, from off trail from Half Moon Trail where I lost my bed roll back in June.
I went to look for it for a second time.
Once again I almost injured myself here by thinking it might be smart to crawl uphill on the loose soil, so that I wouldn't fall, as I had in June.
(I even brought coveralls and leather gloves this time for crawling.) It wasn't smart.
Basic physics. No high pressure points in contact with the ground. I started sliding downhill.
Anyway, while on my stomach, trying to figure out what to do, I notice an object buried in the ground next to this cactus.
Once I was able to get back on my feet, I took this photo. An old beer can.
I am constantly amazed how man has traveled this earth in areas that I would never have though possible.
