This old marker is at the intersection of FR139C and FR9735P. Similar markers are scattered throughout this area of the Mogollon Rim. I've seen discussions on other HAZ hiker's posts over the last 14 years on the purpose of these markers but never have seen a conclusion. I suspect they have something to so with marking areas approved for logging maybe dating back as far as the early 1950s.
