We snuck up on a large black bear. It didn't notice us at first. It was foraging just off the trail directly in front of us. We quietly took pics and admired the animal. This was my first encounter and it was an experience. My heart was racing. Then the bear noticed us and immediately ran away. It stopped 150 yards out and turned back to look at us. That's when I got this photo. From here we turned and took off down the trail. What an experience!
