Had a great hike with Jim. This may have been my fastest roundtrip trip in a while. Weather was very cloudy and the temps were around 77. Didn't even need a hat or sunscreen. I'd say it was a perfect day for a hike!

From Sarasota trailhead, took the Sarasota trail about 2 miles to the Yetman trail. Then took Yetman 1.2 miles to Little Cat trail, then took Little Cat trail 1 mile to the Explorer trail and continued Southeast for 0.3 miles. Lastly I took the Sarasota trail 0.8 miles back to the trailhead.

Walked a path around a lake at Sugden Regional Park with my Dad. Free to enter. Saw a small beach area, many picnic areas, sail boat instruction area with boat rentals, restrooms, etc. Also saw some ducks which looked similar to turkey vultures.

Tiger tail beach walk with my Dad. $10 to enter the park/beach area. It's a bit of a walk to get from the parking lot to the ocean, maybe 1/2 mile, but I was OK with that.

Climbed 100 stories (equal to Eiffel Towel) on the Stairmaster at the gym at Naples Country Club resort in Florida. There aren't any high mountains around here so this is the only way to get elevation!

Did this hike with my Dad for the second time. There are a few trails here with mangrove, palm trees, gumbo limbo trees, and a lot of dense brush. There was a fire in this area a few years ago, but there very little evidence on the drive out that there was a fire in this area. It's possible to see alligators here also, but we didn't see any this time.

Surprised that there was a guide for this hike on the Arizona-based site. This was a very easy but scenic loop. I walked the scenic loop 2 times and then walked a nearby unmarked trail near the water and checked out some of the historic stuff. Worth doing if you're in the area...

Walked the pier at Naples Beach and then walked South from the pier well beyond the high traffic area and back. Saw people on the pier catching several mackerel and 1 pompano fish. My Dad saw 4 dolphins from the pier after I left to walk. One jumped completely out of the water. Would have been a nice video...

Did this boardwalk / pavement walk/hike with my Dad. Nice views of mangrove, streams, etc. Saw one snake across the trail which appeared to be a garden snake. Temps between 80 and 82 degrees between 9 and 10 am. A bit humid but definitely tolerable.

Had a nice adventure with Brian and Dave on a big loop Northeast of Saddlebrook area. Saw lots of huge cattle - all but 2 ran away from us. Walked down a road, explored some amazing canyons, saw some waterfalls, did some light bush whacking. Saw sycamore and cottonwood trees in the washes. Found some copper rocks, a deer leg, some kind of strange animal skull, a mining operation. Needed to cross a wide stream barefoot. Made it back before dark. Quite an adventure!

Hiked the Sarasota trail and Explorer trail which basically looped around Little Cat mountain. Hiked to the top of Little Cat mountain. Hiked to a shelter area along side a boulder on the West side of Little Cat mountain. Very well maintained trail. The trail portion was easy. The hike to Little Cat mountain can be relatively easy if you take the correct route. I hiked up from the NW side which definitely involved some climbing skills! There are some major cliffs on top. When I went down, I followed a cairned trail.

Hiked a small loop from parking area counter clockwise. Took Cam-boh to Ironwood Forest to Mule Deer to Ringtail to Picture Rocks Wash through petroglyph area crossed the road going North and took the wash back to the parking area. Perfect weather on Thursday.

Hiked with Brian W. on the way to Ajo Peak. We originally planned on just hiking Mt Ajo to the top, but saw this one on the way out there are decided it would be fun to hike this one also. There's a very steep gravelly section before getting to the arch.
But, aside from that the trail was maintained pretty well. Beautiful 80 degree day with cloud cover, light breeze. If we had more time, we could have climbed up toward the higher arch. Not sure how difficult it is to get under that arch without ropes. Maybe someday we'll go back and see.
