"Ogre's Den", as it was called by a group I encountered, lies west of Tom's Thumb about 200 yds. A natural shelter formed by a suspended boulder, the cave could easily shelter 20 people from rain or sun. Nice seating, sleeping for 2 comfortably, the most extensive summit register I have ever seen. Excellent. Descended along trail leading east, then north down the main wash between Tom's Thumb and East End. This trail gets my vote for best long/strenuous Trail in the city. |
