| no partners | | Well what can I say about this hike. I have been wanting to do this one for quite a while now and finally had the chance to make a go for it.
The trail starts off with a gradual yet steady incline to the base of the mountain, then makes a turn towards the east into a large open canyon known as the "Siphon Draw". As you travel east into the draw you'll soon encounter a large smooth area known as the "Basin". Here is where most hikers will take a lunch break and admire the views before heading back down, but for you higher elevation seekers such as myself, you'll press onward and will shortly approach the final accent towards the top via a steep and fairly rocky climb up the draw.
I personally don't think the hike is that difficult, but if you're not in good physical condition I wouldn't recommend going to the top. Just turn around at the "Basin". This is definately one of my favorite hikes. |
