Got the track for Mountain Wash. Surprisingly pleasant loop when combined with Turnbuckle. GPS died on the way down so I'll get the other "trails" later.

Clockwise on Turnbuckle with the Vista spur added. Pretty packed today; I forgot it was a holiday.
Solid loop considering it's only 5 minutes away. Don't think I'd go very far out of my way for this park until they add more trails.

Took it easy after Prater Canyon the day before. Headed up from the main road which adds over a mile round-trip to the measly Park Point Trail. Beautiful 360 views at the top. Came back to find my GPS waiting in my tracks near the gate I started at. :D

Drove the Mesa Top Loop afterwards.

Happy to see more of Mesa Verde. I followed some existing tracks until their end 1.8 miles later, then broke trail further into the canyon. Around the 3 mile point, I crossed from the east side of the canyon to the west and began the trip back. My thermometer read 20 degrees and the wind had picked up so I threw on another layer and heavier gloves before resuming the slog. It was cold!

Had a hard time managing layers and kept overheating. I was completely out of energy with 3/4 of a mile to go so I tapped out, made a b-line for the road, and carried the showshoes the rest of the way. If I had another mile on top of that I might have been in trouble. I also missed the memo about snowshoeing on XC ski trails. :doh:

Cool to be back after almost 3 years. Cold and blustery the majority of the time. Had a great view of the clouds sweeping over the peak on the way back to the car.

Great weather. Had some light sprinkles higher up on Goat Camp, but only for 30 seconds or so. Felt a little warm towards the end when there wasn't a breeze.
