Went out to the Supes this morning with pops and Johnlp. Only my second hike in the superstitions and it was a good one. A little slow going and more rout finding than I am use to but it was great to get out of the city. Beautiful scenery and not many people on the trail when we were.
My first full trail run since around march I believe. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to run the whole thing but I made it. It sure felt a lot longer than 7k though. Ill probably end up doing the rest of the series.
Me and pops took my girlfriend and her kids out this morning. One of the kids and my girlfriend had to turn around a little before the rest of us but not long after the rest of us headed back. It is a lot harder hiking when you are carrying somebody. Still good to get out though.
This was the 3rd of the three distances I needed to complete this year. The last one was 100+ degrees and 12 miles or so and this one was like high 60s at the start windy and rainy. It was so dang cold. But I finished the race and got my final medal.
This is the second time i have done this trail. I really like the McDowell trails i would like to explore some more of the ones from this trailhead. Good time with my pops this morning and good weather.
