Nice little gem of a hike, look out for the Cholla's, they are all over the ground.. Started at 9:45 and it was already 88* and it was 96* when I finished. It's still October?

Thank you to 2HIKERZ who developed this trail, your hard work shows.

This was a standard hike. It wasn't quite as spectacular considering the lake is nearly dry, but it was nice. Next time I'll save my $6 though....

This really is God's country. I came across a group of Javalina that had 2 adults and 5 babies. Further along I came across 6 wild Burros and I watched them for a few minutes. Deeper into the hike the trail becomes very faint, I lost it a few times while going across some washes, thank goodness for the Cairns. I saw another group of burros on the South side of the wash, they must be territorial because, they were in the same spot when I came back through.

This was my first time in the Deem hills area. I took this trail by mistake, but it was a nice warm up for the steeper Ridge line trail.

This ended up being a system of trails, first was a leg of the Deem Hills circumference trail for about 1.4 miles, this was due North from the parking area. This transitioned into the Ridge line trail which was a nice steep ascent to the top of the Deem hill. From the top of the hill I tool the Basalt trail and it transitioned into the Palisades Trail. All in all it was a nice hike.

This was a nice find although, the road was really rough(0n 9123). The actual turn off for 9123 is 8.3 miles from I-17, not the 9.8 mentioned in the summary. This is a typical ruin of stacked rocks, but the amount of geologic and archeological eye candy is awesome. I walked North of the main ruin and enjoyed the Agua Fria gorge and views. I could only imagine what life was like 1200 years ago.

As I suspected there was no water in the waterfall, but it was a nice hike. Beware of the bee's around the water fall area. In fact, the bees are swarming in this entire area(I think there might be a hive) Went to Sears Kay Ruins as well and after went to the Wagon Wheel in Cave Creek for a 2000 calorie breakfast(nice little place on Cave creek road just as you come into Cave Creek, east side of road)

Up at 4:45 for this Sunrise hike. It was nice just me and my headlamp although, I was dissappointed to see a lack of critters, I did hear a few coyotes. I made a 25 minute stop and enjoyed the sunrise. I did not see anyone else until 6:00 or so, it was nice to have 25,000 acres all to myself(a brief time).

This was an awesome find, especially coming up from Phoenix. We had to go slow and stop often due to the elevation but, it was a great hike. Saw 5 deer and 1 Black Bear in the first 10 minutes of our day, that was cool. The junction of the water line road and Abineau was beautiful, we sat up there for a good hour just looking around and appreciating the beauty.

We found this trail on accident, as I was looking for the Lamar Haynes wildlife area on Snowbowl road? It was indeed a nice hike to allow my son and I to acclimate to the elevation.
