Nice cool temps this afternoon, so called Bob and, along with my son, the three of us headed up Peralta Trail and on to Lone Pine and Robbers Roost. We got a late start and most everyone was heading down from the saddle when we started and by the time we were done the parking lot was empty. Great way to spend a Wednesday afternoon.

I added pictures of the Cougar chasing rabbit shadows on Superstition Mountain. I hear it only happens for a few days each year, right at sundown for a few min. then it's gone.

Took a hike on the Barnhardt Trail with Bob for a little something different, had a great time. Took a side trip down what we thought was the divide trail, couldn't correctly identify it, so turned back after a short distance. We need to research this area more fully to understand it better, there are many trails some which don't seem to be identified on Garmin Base Camp.

Did it in reverse this time and looks like the route was changed a bit, that wasn't the plan. Didn't see a soul out there, no snakes this time either....darn!! Getting pretty warm, I was chugging water and Powerade the whole way. Solo hike, Bob had house duties today, he promised a hike on Friday and I'm holding him to it. The IPhone ran out of juice before I got back , so..........I think the mileage might actually be slightly higher (for those considering this hike).

I saw that HikerDW did this hike recently :y: and since it was so close to my house I thought I would give it a try, sure glad I did. The views are remarkably good. Interestingly, I haven't been on some of these trails, which is odd since they're just a few miles away from my place. Temp's are warming up, took three liter's of h20 & sucked down two liter's on this trip. Unfortunately, I didn't see one snake the whole trip, only ran in to four folks on horses for the entire hike.

Rode out to Peter's TH early in the morning (7AM start), a special thanks to our buddy Dennis for running the RZR shuttle for us. It was a cold start, but it warmed up later in the day and by the time we hit Charlebois it was pushing 90 degrees. Many thanks to the folks that trimmed the trail on Peter's it was a real help...., nice job!! Stopped by to see the master map and then settled in at Charlebois for lunch around 1PM. Pushed on and ended our trek at First Water TH around 5:30PM. This is the longest hike I've personally taken since I moved to AZ. It's always a fun time with Bob, he's a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the Superstitions.
