In spite of limited time and poor weather, this was a great hike. High, steep canyon walls with a lot of good color, along with very impressive folding and faulting. If you like exposed geology, this is a hike for you. After dropping into the Fall Canyon wash, the route consists of walking up a deep gravel bed, so progress is slower than expected. With so much to look at, we didn't really care, though. There are a series of dry falls beginning 2.5 mile up the canyon, but we had to turn around before reaching them due to rapidly diminishing light. Definitely on the list for a repeat visit.

dry Fall Canyon Dry Dry
There were a few damp spots in the bedrock from the rain today, but nothing that would last through a day of sun.

We only went a couple miles up the canyon, as we got a bit of a late start and still wanted to go see Badwater Basin. Wanted to show off some canyons and Death Valley to a visitor from out of town though!
