After doing Hole-in-the-Wall to Midhills awhile back, I decided to take my husband along to hike the much more enjoyable Barber Peak Loop. You get a lot of the same great views and sites, without hiking through a barren burn for miles. The wind was really something today, keeping the temperature cool and other hikers off the trails (we only saw one couple with their son). The hedgehog cacti were just beginning to flower, along with Salvia in full bloom. The rings were much easier without my full pack!
