This was a pretty good workout. We added a new word to the hiking lexicon: squatch. A squatch is when some part of a tree falls to the ground and makes a noise. You're welcome. Very enjoyable hike in a cool area. The biggest downside to redwoods is that they're not very photogenic. It's difficult to take good pictures in a super-dark forest. Nice to hike with Ron as usual. Perfect weather.

Redwood forests don't typically have a lot of fall color. The local maple, the bigleaf maple, has leaves that turn light brown then fall off. Poison oak has a little fall color, but typically changes back in August. Not much else.
