Coming hear was an easy decision. I already had a permit purchased for my Tanks Canyon adventure. Seneca Falls was literally just down the highway. How could I resist. This place is impressive! It really surprised me. It's more then just a big cliff. My jaw hit the ground as I walked near the edge. It's hard to take it all in. The loud sound of large ice chunks breaking off the falls echoed through the lower canyon. It was actually a little spooky. Most of the pieces had already fallen down by late evening. This process starts over every day. March is definitely a good time to come here. Seeing this monster waterfall really cranking would be a site not soon forgotten. I hope to see that someday. This place is cool!

Stopped here with the hubby type and pups on the way home from Greer - explored around a bit, but nothing too adventurous with that crowd ;) . I took a bunch of pictures, but somehow between here and there they were lost. Maybe I'll find them someday.

Loved this spot. Totally want to come back without dogs and check out the bottom of the falls!

Beautiful...... Had not stopped by in years.

Ice & Heavy frost at the base of the falls. Stopped on my way to (and then again on the return) raft the day trip on the Salt.
Sad to see the demise of the compound of buildings that I had helped to rehab back in '92 & '93.
Some nice, newer ramadas have been added around the lake - the COWS seem to love them for shade. :(

Directions to the place are right on. Just keep going straight north past the lake and turnoffs. If you value your car, I'd recommend just walking the last 100 yards of dirt road to the lookout.

Stopped by here on my way to hike a canyon on the Upper Salt River. I occasionally do some sport climbing, so I figured I'd stop by here and check out the cliffs, even if they might be closed to climbing. :?

The cliffs are so sweet, with many great routes to climb. The coloring, the height, the pools of water, and the overlook just all make for an awesome location to swing by. I 'hiked' down the climbers trail to the pool below the main falls to check out the bolted routes. Be nice if I had a topo for the area. I also noticed that some good lines didn't appear to be bolted, maybe I wasn't seeing them.

If you love cliffs and are driving by, definetly check this place out. Just look for the burned out buildings on the west side of the road with a sign for Senaca.
