I don't know if many of you know this, but I have finally gotten a rim jo-err...a job at the South Rim!
I'll be moving up to the Grand Canyon on March 15th to join the DNC ranks and work alongside our dear friend cactuscat
My first day at work in yee ole General Store in GC Village is March 18th (also my 27th birthday *ahem*) and who knows how long I'll be up there so...
I wanted to have one last night hike in the Supes with my "HAZ family", that's like, all of you crazy people!
I'm thinking of Loopin' the Needle or headin' up to Black Top Mesa again....regardless of where we end up, I'd like to be close to the Needle, a bit of a goodbye visit I guess
So....Friday Night, March 8th, in the Supes...I sure am going to miss this place and hiking with everyone ...I hope you'll come visit me at the GC!

We can all meet at the TH at 6pm. (i think trivia might be done by then )
If anyone wants to carpool let me know in advance and we can meet a bit earlier.
I imagine we can do out n back in 4 hours tops, right...i don't recall how long we took last time...
Peralta or FW? Don't think this old woman can night hike but I can stop by and bid you adieu

Depending on the crowd we draw, the Weaver's Crosscut might be an option as well. For those who don't regularly hippyhike at night, an 8-mile loop might be better than 12? Either way, I like heading out from Peralta.
Of course, this whole thing might get messy (and more fun) if the rain and cold arrives on Friday... And if it's not cloudy, there's essentially no moon anyway so headlamps will be needed.

Bootise, Chum, I was considering being even lazier and suggesting Massacre Falls, because I still haven't been out there!
So depending on the crowd we can go easy at Massacre or bit more difficult with crosscutting the Needle. I like that.
Black Top Mesa is out because I was a goober and didn't check the moon phases, it's a nice hike but I want to go up to see the Needle in full-moon-light!
@PLC92084 thank you! get your tail in gear and come visit South Rim! I've been told I have lots of exploring to do. @Sun Ray thank you
It's fitting it should be in the rain just like the first night hike we did with the Hippy That's why I think we should do the Weavers Needle Loop because thats what we were going to do then and couldn't get to the TH.
@Bootsie let's do the loop, you're right, it's only fitting!
@chumley so...forgive me if I'm forgetful...but who the heck is the guy on the far right in that photo?? As far as I recall it was just the 6 of us on that trip...and he certainly doesn't look like Mister Boots...oh and....*ahem* that you for reminding me that the first time I met you guys I went prancing off trail to catch a fat slimy toad...

In retrospect, that may have been the smartest decision you ever made! ;)
