Elden 1978

Elden 1978

Postby joe bartels » Jan 19 2010 4:21 pm

Researching a couple days ago I came across this 1978 Elden photo. I think it'd be cool if one of the Flagstaffians could get a 2010 to compare :)

I recognize the spot and would drive over there to snap you a shot, but Elden is covered in clouds right now and it's snowing again. I'll try when the clouds clear out again!

I'll bet that the red pickup is still there... :sl:

I agree! I had a Ranger for a decade. It was indestructible.
Edit: I had a RED Ranger for a decade. I had a green one before that, and I personally destroyed it in less than a year! :D

My fam. was on vacation when this fire was burning - we were driving up past the mountain, and I remember how fascinated I was by the fire. Shoulda been a sign right there - not scared, but riveted. Still remember the smell of the vinyl seats of that '73 Chrysler Station Wagon, and the way it felt like you were riding in a Sherman tank!!! Ah - the memories!

Looks like it's in front of the Bun Huggers on Milton, so anyone who has come into Flag has seen that view.
Spring winds are still annoying, but if they aren't filled with dirt or cold, they aren't that bad.
