Quirks ( not a HAZ Tracks issue )
- Nexus w/Jellybean off line maps do not work, consider upgrading to 4.4 or higher
- Moto X not working? try "Device only" rather than "High accuracy"
- Android 4.1.1 map freezes, upgrade your device to 4.1.2 or higher
anyone is welcome to donate an old Mac & iPhone to the HAZ DEV team if they would like to see HAZ on Apple
2014-02-14 Update
Received an iPhone donation! An old MAC is required to develop on Apple's proprietary system. If you have one collecting dust send me a PM
2014-03-28 update
The HAZ Development team is working on getting the equipment required to create an iPhone app. Current guestimate for a working app is Summer 2014.
Still months away best case scenario and subject to approval by the fruit foundation...
HAZ Tracks ran on Grimey's donated iPhone today. Surprisingly nice too as iOS controls are considerably slicker than Android. Looks to be a winner once the bugs are figured out ( dev team is backed up ).
Wow, nice to hear. I have a Samsung s3 and I will be getting a new phone. I was thinking HTC m8 but when I heard that Apple was finally going to a bigger screen. I decided to wait for it and compare those two.
Ok, now then ... Is there any option for offline map storage (current or in development)? That's hugely important to me because 1. phone battery doesn't last forever and 2. there's generally not a signal where I hike (despite photo evidence to the contrary).
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.
I always carry two portable backup batteries. Lately I have been using my tracks app. I like it when I start tracking most of the time the map of the trail I am hiking shows up. I really like that because I can see where I am on the trail.
That would be the 3 downloaded plus 1 for recording. The wording on that probably needs clarification, I'll look into it - thx
Future versions should hold more files when cross platform device storage standards become more standard.
You can get more files into HAZ Tracks if you plan ahead with Route MGR.
- HAZ Tracks holds (4) routes - 6,500 track points ( roughly a thirty mile equivalent ) + 50 waypoints
- the key is to create a "route" ( aka .gpx file ) in Route MGR with multiple "tracks"
HAZ Tracks version 1.7.6 was just published to Google Play ( typically available in 3-12 hours ) & iTunes ( available in 4-9 days ).
● added satellite layer
● also added page back via swipe for the iOS version
If you find the app useful please consider leaving feedback on Google Play or iTunes. Likewise if you have ideas to make it better speak up or send me a PM. Please note there are currently 2 major tasks on the todo list ( listed in the first post of the thread ).
edit: Android version is now available as of 8:25pm ( 25 minutes later )
edit: iOS version is now available ( 5 days, 12 hours later )
Version 1.7.8 went live on Google Play two days ago.

notice - 1.7.7 went out hours prior, discovered a bug and published 1.7.8 to correct
