Washingtonia robusta

Common Names: Fan Palm
Habitat: In Old Mexico, Canyons and wet areas and moist canyons in the Baja, and possibly Sonora states. In the USA, mostly in landscaping in warm areas. Escaped to moist places in warm areas.
Flowers: Inflorescence of small pink flowers on a stalk.
Description: A tall palm with a long apron of dead leaves unless pruned. Tall and skinny. Lower cold tolerance than California variety. Despite Latin name, not really robust.
Comments: When in doubt, if tall and skinny, think Mexican. Fat, think the Californian.
